Welcome!

My name is Dr. Anne Reckling and I am a licensed psychologist located in Columbus, Ohio.

I specialize in the assessment and treatment of young children, school-age children, and adolescents. In addition to my private practice, I am a staff psychologist for the Oakstone Schools.

I have extensive experience providing psychological assessment and treatment to children with a wide range of difficulties (developmental disabilities, autism, chronic illness, death of a parent, abuse and neglect, divorce, intellectual giftedness, and children ‘simply’ struggling to adjust to the demands of their lives). In addition to my private practice, I have worked in a variety of settings including a therapeutic preschool, pediatric HIV/AIDS clinic, children’s hospital, university developmental disabilities clinic, private schools, pediatric psychiatric inpatient unit, pediatric neurotrauma unit, and residential treatment centers.

I moved to Columbus, Ohio in 2006. Prior to that move, I had a private practice in South Florida for ten years. In 1994, I graduated with a Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver (American Psychological Association approved program). My clinical internship (APA approved) was at The Children’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado. If you would like more information regarding my education and experience, please click on the tab entitled “My Education, Training, And Clinical Experience”.

I am also the mother of two children (one teen and one tween). Because I’m a mother of a medically fragile child, I have been on the parent side of the fence as well as the professional. Raising a child is difficult; raising a child with special needs (medical and/or developmental) is uniquely difficult. My experience as a parent of a medically fragile child has had a positive impact on my capacity to listen, understand, and provide help to children and parents.
